Equal Pay Day was established to draw attention to the pay disparity experienced by women. The day of the year on which Equal Pay Day falls, this year March 14, signifies how far into the new year the average woman must work to be paid what the average man was paid the previous year. Today, women working full time, year-round are paid 83 cents for every dollar paid to men. Equal Pay Day varies widely when considering other aspects of identity including many historically marginalized race/ethnic groups, caregiver status, gender identity, sexual orientation, and more.
Every day at WillowTree we consider and orient our practices toward equity.
